We started off publishing articles on Herbal Medicine and Plant Magic on The Practical Herbalist. As our readership grew, we began writing longer and longer articles. Those articles became books, and we needed a place to publish ’em.Â
That’s how Practical Herbalist Press began, with a need for more in-depth and longer, more practical works on Plant Magic, Herbal Medicine, and all things Herbal in nature. We set for ourselves a couple simple guidelines:
Everything we publish should be Real, meaning the authors of all our volumes have experience as well as knowledge to share.Â
Everything we publish should be practical in some way, meaning we’re not advocating intricate, esoteric, or hard-to-do stuff in the pages of our books…although we definitely want the space to have some fun with The Plants, which allows us to step into the realm of Fiction on occasion and explore some of the more challenging or complicated elements of working with The Plants, too.Â
Everything we do to market or spread the word about our titles must be honest, true, and above all else REAL. That means we won’t pretend to be buddies or part of a popular crowd just to make ourselves look special. The Plants are the stars, and we (publishers and authors alike) are lucky to be a part of their lives. They don’t pretend, and we follow their lead. Â
